Job Purpose
Plan, project and create in correlation with other departments; Schemes, Thematic and Visual points of interest – related to business calendar planning for the Beauty Stores. Drive branding, convert Sales and maximize profitability of prospective shoppers through impactful displays and instore communication standards for (Retail/Distribution) portfolio of Beauty.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities
Strategic Roles and Responsibilities

Define, design and implement Creative Visual Merchandise Strategy for Beauty Store(s).

Production management of Window, floor, Store and Interior displays, floorplans, props and Special promotions.

Identify key messages and set a clear image of end result – through multidisciplined design tools.

Monitor costs and work within set budgets
-
Ability to liaise with suppliers and sourcing of elements, materials and all Visual Merchandise related (other) props – self initiating and accountable attitude

Ability to work closely with various business units and departments in order to carry out the Creative directional needs of campaigns
-
Seek out and source the best in class to work and liaise with – Inc. Suppliers /contractors. Other.

Resourceful and knowledgeable in Creative implementations and ability to see the ‘bigger business picture’
Functional Roles and Responsibilities
-
Create and produce displays, signage, interior/exterior and special promotional displays and opportunities.

Come up with, revise and present design ideas in conjunction with Team and business unit planners and calendars – both institutional and strategic – with internal and external brands needs alike.

Create, update and manage Visual Merchandise Guidelines for all Store(s)
-
Oversee production, sourcing and ensure clear communication is set against each brief, delivery on time against deadlines being critical.

Initiate meetings and collaborative huddles in order to decipher work priorities and ensure the rhythms of seasonal works, through attending Store(s) visits
-
Review the market through monitored and tracked visits regularly to be on top of the business needs, sharing reports and updating trackers pertaining to business asks.

Research and stay ahead of design trends, materials and market lifestyle needs as relevant to role, department – brand(s) – reporting back to business unit opportunities and new ways

Regularly conduct Warehouse visits, control of inventory and monitoring of assets – minimal req. quarterly.

Deliver strong Financial business acumen -related to Budget planning and financial management, through controls and ROI of works as required.

Supplier and Contractor visits – material checks and sign off of materials for production – sampling – comes under direct remit and accountability.

Proactively encourage and drive a positive work environment through communication, interactions and written resources for Team, division and with external clientele also.

Manage a team of two(+) Visual Merchandising Associates providing leadership and direction

Guide, mentor, manage and motivate team-members to enhance performance and produce quality work, and ensure that they are developed for higher-level roles
Job Requirements
Education/Certification and Continued Education
-
Proven work experience as a Visual Merchandiser within retail – ideal Beauty
-
Demonstrate Visual Design skills and strong retail merchandising portfolio
-
Solid experience in field visual, signs, interior displays and space utilization.

Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, 3D Max and other visual design tools
-
Good communicator, with great innovative and creative thinking ability
-
Ability to analyze and see the merchandising results of the business

Reporting and tracking ability – presenting briefs and pitches to business unit
Years of Experience
-
Minimum of 4+ years’ experience in the beauty, luxury small goods or similar industry
Knowledge and Skills

Adobe Suite essential – Sketch UP/Photoshop-3D – rendering ability /comprehension

Design Tool efficiency
-
Word/Excel/Photoshop – other
