Senior Team Leader

Job Purpose

To plan, organize and manage daily maintenance and repair of customers‘ vehicles, ensuring high quality of workmanship which meets the set standard of manufacturer‘s and customers‘ satisfaction.

To support and assist the workshop supervisor and technical Manager on daily tasks

To support the team leaders if they need any supervision or support

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

Operational Roles and Responsibilities

·       Allocate the jobs based on the job cards received to the team to achieve maximum labour utilization

·       Control and monitor work in progress at shop floor to ensure staff efficiency and productivity so that the job is completed within the committed delivery time. Ensure technicians clock in and out correctly in the system and allocate standard allowed time of each job as per the principal and company standards.

·       Ensure repair order write up of technicians are as per manufacture‘s audit requirements

·       Upgrade technical knowledge through web based courses and class room training.

·       Follow up on each repair and advise the technician about the schedule time and completion date to get team effort for delivery of the vehicle on time.

·       Prepare the repair request for additional work, ensure repair order has been correctly transcribed and allocate the specialist technician to ensure excellent workmanship and quality repair, providing guidance on the repair method as per the principal’s guidelines, parts supply and monitoring delays in repairs wherever necessary.

·       Arrange parts in case the vehicle is getting delayed due to Parts Not Available (PNA) in the counter, discuss with parts dept & the supervisor for further action, not limiting to recommendation of cannibalization from new vehicle depending upon urgency. Promptly communicate the delay to Service Advisor/ Controller.

·       In case of peculiar problem is noticed, road test the vehicle for proper repair and make sure that the quality of repairs as per required standard.

·       Monitor tools, workshop equipment and shop consumables of his team to ensure availability and serviceability, for prompt servicing of vehicles

·       Ensure that company‘s health safety policies are followed, all tools equipments are kept in good order, and housekeeping standards are maintained so as to preserve a good safe and healthy working environment.

·       Evaluate and monitor performance of the subordinate against set standard, identify necessary training and follow up with Workshop Manager/Assistant workshop Manager  for delivery

·       Upgrade technical knowledge through web based courses and trainings

·       Give clear write up on job card & instruction to costing clerk regarding job carried out and deviation if any with amount to be charged to customer.

·       In some occasions TS , they will responsible of conducting primary and secondary diagnosis and give a clear instruction for technicians to carry out the jobs

·       Keep focus on work shop KPIs and find ideas for improvements

 

 

Additional Requirements

·        Valid UAE Driving License

·       Relevant certification from manufacturer/company

 

  • Minimum 3yrs experience working as a Team Leader on floor and handling technician team.
  • Minimum L3 certified.
  • L4 or on L4 journey will be added advantage.  
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience in handling team of technicians & managing large team/volume thru put.
  • Thorough system knowledge( Autoline). allocating jobs and all other TL related task.
  • Well versed with JLR warranty policy( discard parts policy, Job card write-ups, complete workshop related process)
  • Understanding of JLR SEF process.
  • Experience in reporting repeat repair cases and analysis.
  • QC failure report analysis and action plan.
  • Better understating of EV repair process and eligibility to carryout repair tasks.
  • Well versed with technical reporting process of JLR, TA, EPQR’s, reporting of product related issues.
  • Ability to groom and identify future potentials.
  • Well versed with workshop KPI’s
  • Thorough understanding of workshop financial KPI’s/DSR.
  • Good understanding of JLR Topix, manufacturers standard repair times.
  • A team player, maintain better collaboration with other department( Reception/Parts/QC/Warranty).
  • Customer centric and understands the importance of customer service.
