About The Role
The Senior Financial Analyst – Joint Venture Portfolio is responsible for providing financial insights, performance analysis, and strategic support across a portfolio of joint ventures in the luxury retail sector. This role plays a critical part in reporting JV financial status, compliance, and alignment with corporate objectives, while fostering strong relationships with JV partners and internal stakeholders.
The role will support management in decision-making and planning through analysis and reporting of financial performance, maintaining effective controls over the JV portfolio’s financial processes, management information, and budgets of the portfolio in line with the Al Tayer Insignia (ATI) guidelines.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Financial Planning & Analysis
Liaise with JV’s finance team to gather financial information to compute Company’s share in profits and share relevant information with the booking teams to accrue the same
Support finance team with relevant inputs and analytics to be included in the monthly MIS
Support booking of investments and loan related transactions with the JVs including computation of interest charges
Support finance team to ensure timely collection of receivables from the JVs
Support external auditors by providing relevant information and analytics for audit of the JV related items in the financials
Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate new JVs’ performance, profitability, and investment returns.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes for each JV entity.
Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to senior leadership highlighting any emerging concerns and recommending potential resolutions.
Analyse and review G&A recharge by JV companies to ensure compliance, integrity, and alignment to ATI’s guidelines.
Support to track and manage invoicing and recharges for services provided to JV companies by ATI
2. JV Performance Monitoring
Track and report key financial and operational metrics across the JV portfolio.
Prepare monthly and quarterly performance updates and board packs.
Build and maintain JV performance database & dashboards
Identify risks and opportunities within JV operations and financials.
3. Partner & Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with JV partners to understand financial goals, reporting standards, and governance.
Support Associate Director – Joint Ventures with preparation for JV board meetings with financial presentations and strategic recommendations.
Liaise with internal departments (e.g., Legal, Tax, Treasury) to ensure JV compliance and alignment.
4. Strategic Support
Assist in evaluating new JV opportunities, including financial due diligence, financial modelling and sensitivity analysis.
Support restructuring, divestment, or expansion initiatives within the JV portfolio.
Contribute to strategic projects such as digital transformation, cost optimization, and capital allocation.
Assist with due diligence review on potential JV partners, summarizes key findings and suggests way forward including risks mitigations strategies.
Supports the Associate Director – Joint Ventures to ensure that ATI’s interests and rights, as the JV partner, are protected throughout the JV lifecycle.
Support in Managing documentation, approvals and governance activities of new and existing JVs.
5. Governance & Compliance
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with IFRS.
Monitor adherence from a financial perspective to JV agreements, shareholder rights, and governance frameworks.
Coordinate with the external audit process including preparation of year end and interim financial statements.
6. Tax
Facilitate connections with external advisors on tax requirements if needed without providing advice
About You
You will need to have the following skills, abilities and qualification to be successful:
Bachelor’s degree with relevant professional qualification, such as CIMA, CFA, ACCA etc.
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in FP&A or commercial finance, preferably in a JV, retail environment.
Strong proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
Excellent communicator and comfortable managing multiple tasks
Proficient in English language. Arabic would be an advantage
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Knowledge of JV structures, governance, and financial reporting standards
Exceptional attention to detail
High integrity with strong work ethic
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple parallel projects
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders
