About The Role

As a Junior Data Engineer, your role is fundamental in supporting our data infrastructure and operations. You will be responsible for supporting internal and external stakeholders with data for key decision making. Working collaboratively with end users to develop reporting systems that provide accessible information for decision-making. Your primary goal is to contribute to the efficient and reliable flow of warehouse data within the organization, ensuring data quality, integrity, and availability for use in analytics, reporting, and decision-making.

What You’ll Be Doing

o   Proficiency in creating comprehensive dashboards and interactive visualizations using enterprise BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI, or MicroStrategy) to transform complex data into clear, actionable insights.

o   Ability to design and develop compelling data narratives and analytical reports that effectively communicate business performance, trends, and recommendations to stakeholders across all organizational levels.

o   Support in developing data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into our data warehouse.

o   Work with Data Manager to support with AWS services such as AWS Glue, AWS Data Pipeline, and Amazon S3 to build robust data processing workflows , api gateways .

o   Reutilize existing templates in Tableau to Help with troubleshooting data-related issues , identify bottlenecks.

o   Help develop and maintain data pipelines for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading.

o   Support database administration tasks including schema design, indexing, and performance optimization.

o   Assist in the development and maintenance of ETL processes to ensure data quality and integrity.

o   Collaborate with team members to design and implement data models and warehouses for analytics.

o   Participate in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to data infrastructure.

o   Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing to support team collaboration and continuity.

About You

o   Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.

o   2+ years of experience in a BI Developer or Data Engineering role for an eCommerce, transaction-based Retailer, omnichannel strongly advantageous

o   Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, including data pipelines, ETL processes, and data modelling.

o   Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.

o   Experience with SQL and warehousing concepts/ databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).

o   Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.

o   Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.

o   Understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms.

o   Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

o   Knowledge cloud Data Warehousing platforms, preferably Google BigQuery

o   Cloud computation – Basics of GCP or AWS.

o   Knowledge of ETL platforms like FiveTran
