About the Role
The Assistant Photographer will work closely with the lead photographer to capture high-quality product images for e-commerce platforms. This role supports photography production for online retail, ensuring that all visuals align with brand standards and are optimized for digital use. The ideal candidate has a passion for photography, strong technical skills, and experience in an e-commerce or studio environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Ensure all product images align with the brand’s visual identity and contribute to a cohesive online shopping experience.
• Stay informed about e-commerce trends and competitor strategies to propose new ideas for enhancing visual content.
• Capture high-quality images of products for our e-commerce website, ensuring accurate representation of color, texture, and details.
• Review images during and after shoots for clarity, color accuracy, and adherence to guidelines.
• Work closely with the senior photographer, and studio team to understand project requirements and deliver images that meet brand guidelines.
• Set up and adjust lighting, backdrops, and other equipment to achieve the desired photographic results.
• Edit photos where necessary using software such as Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom to enhance product appearance, remove imperfections, and maintain consistency across all images.
• Assists the senior photographer is editorial shoots when required.
• Work collaboratively within the team, providing support to senior photographers, and other as needed.
• Actively seek and incorporate feedback from senior team members to improve photography skills and output quality.
About You
Education/Certification and Continued Education
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
Years of Experience
1-2 years of experience in photography, preferably in an e-commerce or product photography setting.
Knowledge and Skills
Fluency in English.
Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Capture One, and other photo and video editing software.
Basic knowledge of camera equipment, lighting, and studio setup.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Ability to perform thorough quality checks on images to ensure consistency and adherence to brand standards.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
